Globally unique resources that provide access to data management services and serve as the parent namespace for the services.
Hi @ Vicente Grillo,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform.
Migrating a General-purpose v1 (GPv1) storage account to General-purpose v2 (GPv2) is supported as an in-place and non-disruptive upgrade. Your existing endpoints and data remain unchanged, and there is no downtime during the migration process.
You can perform the migration using the Azure Portal by following the steps below:
Navigate to the Azure Portal-->Go to your Storage Account--->Select Configuration from the left-hand menu--->Under Account kind---->change the value to General-purpose v2.---->Click Save.
Please note:
If you do not migrate your existing General-purpose v1 storage account to GPv2 by October 2026, Microsoft will automatically migrate all remaining GPv1 accounts to GPv2. This automatic migration may result in higher billing costs depending on your workload and usage pattern.
Choosing not to manually migrate the account before this deadline will be considered as consent for Microsoft to perform the migration on your behalf.
