How to request an extension of Microsoft for Startups Azure credit expiration due to delayed GPU quota approval

Hello,

My Microsoft for Startups Azure credits expire on July 7, 2026. The credits were activated before I had usable GPU quota, and the GPU quota approval process took several weeks. The quota has now been approved.

I am trying to request a short extension of the credit expiration date to August 1, 2026, but I cannot find the right support path for this type of request.

Does anyone know the correct way to contact the billing/credits team for this?

Thank you,

Tim

I think the only way to extend Startup credits is to open an Azure Billing ticket and request a “credit expiration review”, noting the GPU‑quota approval delay.

Use two parallel paths: Azure support for billing/credits, and Microsoft for Startups program support.

    1. Create an Azure billing/support request
      1. Go to Help + support in the Azure portal.
      2. Follow the steps in the "how to create an Azure support request" guidance to open a ticket.
      3. Choose the billing/subscription category and clearly describe:
        • Microsoft for Startups Azure Sponsorship subscription ID.
        • Current credit expiration date (July 7, 2026).
        • Date GPU quota was actually approved and became usable.
        • The requested new expiration date (August 1, 2026) and that the delay was due to GPU quota approval.
    2. Use Microsoft for Startups Portal to escalate/coordinate
      1. Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups Portal.
      2. Select the "?" icon in the top-right corner.
      3. Select "Submit a Support Ticket".
      4. In the ticket, include:
        • The Azure Sponsorship subscription ID.
        • The Azure billing/support request number from step 1.
        • A short explanation that this is a request to extend Azure sponsorship credit expiration because GPU quota approval was delayed.
    3. When to use which channel
      • For cost and billing questions (including credit expiration), use an Azure support ticket via the Azure portal.
      • For program-level issues or coordination (such as startup benefits and sponsorship handling), use the Microsoft for Startups Portal support ticket so the startup team can coordinate with the Azure teams.

This combination routes the request to the correct billing/credits team and ensures the Microsoft for Startups team can help coordinate the exception.
