Not able to login to portal.azure.com using hotmail

I am trying to login to portal.azure.com but it is asking for MFA despite providing MFA initially. I am trying to login using my personal hotmail ID

When signing in to portal.azure.com, logging in with a personal Hotmail (Microsoft account) can result in repeated MFA prompts, even after MFA is successfully completed.

This typically happens because:

The Azure portal is designed to work primarily with Microsoft Entra ID (work/school) accounts.

If your Hotmail ID is associated as a guest in any tenant, Microsoft Entra ID security policies (Security Defaults / Conditional Access) can trigger additional MFA challenges.

Switching between personal Microsoft account context and Entra ID context can cause the MFA loop.

Recommended resolution:

If you are a Microsoft employee or accessing Azure resources tied to an organization, sign in using your Microsoft Entra ID (employee/work) account instead of a personal Hotmail ID.

If you must use the Hotmail ID, ensure it has valid guest access to the tenant and try signing in via InPrivate/Incognito to avoid cached identity conflicts.

I need to use azure portal using my personal hotmail account instead of microsoft account. I am accessing the azure portal from personal account. I am not sure why I am getting second MFA prompt which does not accept code displayed on my phone.

Appreciate any help on this.
