Last Server version in my Admin Center is 2019

I have subscribed to Volume Licensing for our school since it was available (well since XP.) I maintain a KMS server for the school and have always had server keys available. The last one is 2019, and the newer ones are not there. It says online that I may need to ask since "most people do not use KMS any longer." Well, I would appreciate the keys, as I only use KMS. Thank you.

    Hi Brian Pool,

You are not missing anything. Newer KMS host keys are simply no longer exposed by default in the volume licensing portals. Microsoft hides them because they want organizations to move away from KMS, but as an active subscriber, you are still entitled to them. To get KMS host keys beyond Windows Server 2019, you must request them directly from Microsoft Volume Licensing support.

Here is the exact way to get them unhidden for your tenant:

Sign in: Log in to the Microsoft 365 admin center using an account with Volume Licensing roles (like VL Administrator or Key Administrator).

Submit a Request: Reach out to Volume Licensing support. Use the contact channel specifically for volume licensing support.

Provide Details: Give them your Agreement/Enrollment Number or License ID. Clearly state that you need newer Windows Server KMS host keys for an existing KMS environment.

Once support validates your agreement, they will provide the appropriate KMS host keys. After they flip the switch, you will see them appear under Billing > Your products > Volume licensing in the View downloads and keys section.

    Tracy Le.

Newer KMS host keys are no longer exposed by default in some volume licensing portals. To obtain KMS host keys beyond Windows Server 2019, a volume licensing administrator must request them directly from Microsoft Volume Licensing support.

    Use these steps:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center with an account that has Volume Licensing roles (VL Administrator, Key Administrator, or Key Viewer).
    2. Go to Billing > Your products > Volume licensing.
    3. Confirm that only Windows Server 2019 (and earlier) KMS host keys are listed under View downloads and keys.
    4. Submit a support request to Volume Licensing to obtain newer KMS host keys:
      • Use the Volume Licensing support channel described in Contact volume licensing support.
      • Provide the required agreement details (Agreement/Enrollment Number or License ID and Authorization) and clearly state that KMS host keys for newer Windows Server versions are needed for an existing KMS environment.

If additional activation capacity is ever needed for existing MAK or KMS keys, a similar support request process is used, where Volume Licensing support can review and adjust activation limits by exception.

Once Microsoft Volume Licensing support validates the agreement, they can add or provide the appropriate KMS host keys for newer Windows Server versions so they can be installed on the existing KMS host.
