Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Mary Pat DiLeva,
I understand the concern. Since this is a Hotmail account added to Classic Outlook for Windows, the first thing to confirm is whether the same behavior happens in Outlook on the web as well, because that helps tell whether this is limited to the desktop app or affects the Outlook.com account itself.
- Please send a very simple test email from Outlook on the web to one recipient only, with no signature, no link, and no attachment. If the same message is still treated as spam there, the issue is more likely tied to the account rather than Outlook 2024 on the PC.
- If you receive a bounce or non-delivery report, please copy the exact code from the “Diagnostic information for administrators” section. That code is usually the fastest way to identify the cause.
- For a Hotmail or Outlook.com address, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are not something a personal user normally manages for the standard @hotmail.com domain. In the meantime, keep the message simple, avoid large BCC sends, avoid sending many emails in a short period, and make sure people you email regularly are saved in Contacts.
Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors can share troubleshooting steps but cannot check backend sending reputation or change account-level mail filtering.
I hope this helps narrow down whether the issue is with Classic Outlook or with the Hotmail account itself.
