Controlling settings, permissions, and membership within Teams and channels
If you're unable to sign out or add an account in Microsoft Teams, here are a few steps you can try:
- Sign Out from the App: To sign out of the Teams desktop app, click on your profile picture at the top of the app and select Sign out. If you have multiple accounts, you need to sign out of each one individually.
- Check for Account Sharing: If you're using single sign-on (SSO), signing out of Teams will remove the data associated with your account from the app, but the account itself will remain on the device. You may need to re-enter your credentials when signing back in.
- Use the Web Version: If the desktop app is not allowing you to sign out or add an account, try accessing Teams through a web browser. You can sign out from there by clicking on your profile picture and selecting Sign out.
- InPrivate/Incognito Mode: If you're using a shared computer and want to prevent your username from being visible, consider using the browser in InPrivate or Incognito mode.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to check for any updates to the Teams app or consider reinstalling it.
