How does one know if their Windows 10 product key can be updated to Windows 11.

There is no child tag for this issue.

Auto answer assumes the update is from Windows 10. In this case, Windows 10 does not allow updating to Windows 11.

Will have to install from USB.

A Windows 10 product key itself doesn't determine whether you can upgrade to Windows 11. In most cases, if you have a genuine, activated Windows 10 license, that license is also valid for the corresponding edition of Windows 11 (for example, Windows 10 Pro → Windows 11 Pro or Windows 10 Home → Windows 11 Home).

The deciding factor is whether the device meets the Windows 11 hardware requirements, including:

Supported 64-bit processor
TPM 2.0 enabled
UEFI firmware with Secure Boot enabled
Minimum RAM and storage requirements

To check compatibility, run the PC Health Check app from Microsoft or review the Windows 11 requirements.

If Windows Update doesn't offer the upgrade but your device is eligible, you can use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant or create installation media on a USB drive. During installation, Windows should activate automatically using your existing digital license once you're connected to the internet.

All the computers have been updated to Windows 11 or gone to electronic waste. The post was done too long ago for me to remember what problem I was having at the time of the post. I will just make yes, accept answer.
