Outlook Email and Calendar Simultaneously - Would be the killer app!

One of the killer functions on Surface Duo is the ability to span the Outlook for Android app across both screens, so you can scroll through your email list on one screen while simultaneously viewing the most recent message on the second screen.  What would be KILLER would be the ability to view and read emails on one screen while simultaneously viewing and managing the calendar on the other screen.  This ability alone would justify the paradigm shift to dual screens!  

In the absence of being able to this this with Outlook for Android alone, I've taken to the workaround of running Outlook365 in an Edge browser on one Duo screen while running the Outlook for Android app on the other screen.  Gives me the same effect of having both the calendar and email visible at the same time -- but what a kludge.

Has anyone figured out how to view calendar and email at the same time?

    I have outlook Calendar on one side and outlook email on the other.

    There is a calendar app and outlook app in my list of apps. i even have a group app to open both at the same time.

    I disabled the default google calendar so it doesnt show in the apps list. The outlook one and google are both called calendar and icons look similar. Do you have 2 calendar apps in all apps list?

    You're welcome! You have a good point that the app group should ship by default or change name from "calendar' to 'outlook calandar" so they show up together in the app list!

    Yes, I was thrown off by the presence of the Google Calendar app.  Wow, that app group should be pre-installed as standard fare for Surface Duo, and Microsoft should show the side-be-side in their demos and marketing materials!  This productivity gain alone justifies the switch to Duo in my book.
