Surface Book WiFi Connectivity

I am having a serious problem connecting my new Surface Book to the internet. When I bought it, it connected perfectly to by my home and office WiFi routers. After an update, however, it connected to my home internet, but it slowed to a crawl where it was basically unusable. Microsoft Support (Case No. xxxxxxxxxx ) had me change the driver and redo the updates. While this worked on my home WiFi system, I can no longer connect to the WiFi at my office, regardless of which driver I use. I am now connecting via a USB WiFi dongle. However, I lose my connection whenever I separate my tablet because it must rely on the non-functioning Marvell driver.

To say this is frustrating is an understatement. Although I like many of this product's features, it is basically useless to me without a reliable WiFi connection.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to fix this problem? Otherwise, I am going to return it, and I swear I will never buy Microsoft software again.

.112 does not fix issues for everyone. There are multiple posts in this forum

    regarding this.

Hello, do you have the surface book 2? The first thing I would try is going into Settings>Network and Internet>Wifi>Click Manage known Networks, then forget the network name you are having troubles with. Then try to reconnect to it. If that doesnt work try the steps below.

Type in windows search box winver and verify the build of windows you are on. Then go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56261 and download the latest drivers that correlate to your windows build and right click run as admin.

If that doesn't work you could try, resetting windows with option to keep files and apps. I would first backup all your data though because there is still the chance you could lose things. To reset pc type reset in the windows search box and click reset this pc. follow the prompts it gives you.

    Hi Druien77_KY,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I'm sorry to hear about the issue you are having on your Surface Book 1.

May I know the Driver version of the Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller driver on the device? To check on this, please open Device Manager > Network Adapters. Double-click Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller and click the Driver tab on top. Does it ends in .112, .110 or .58?

    I'll wait for your response.

    Kind Regards,

    Marrion Y.
